The group originated in 1989 when Malcom Yepa and his family traveled to Lame Deer, Montana for a pow-wow. A cousin of the group, Jimmy Little Coyote, introduced Malcom and his family to the pow-wow tradition. Upon returning home to Jemez, Malcom wanted to begin this tradition in his community. He gathered a group of cousins and friends and tada...you have the Black Eagle Singers. Over the many years Black Eagle has received numerous accomplishments including:
- 2007 Grammy Nominees for Best Native American Music Album  'Voice of the Drum'
- 2006 Native American Music Award Nomination for the album 'Straight Up Northern'
- 2005 Grammy Nomination for the album 'Straight Up Northern'
- 2004 Grammy Winners-Best Native American Music Album for the album 'Flying Free'
- 2003 Native American Music Awards Winners for Best Powwow Album 'Flying Free'
- 2002 Grammy Nominees for Best Native American Music Album 'Life Goes On'.

We are The Callin' Eagle northern youth drum group from The Dine' Nation. There are 10 members (singers only). Ranging in ages from 9-20 years old. Callin' Eagle started caring the drum 10 years ago, when they were initiated into the the powwow circle at the Zuni Tribal Fair in Zuni, New Mexico. Callin' Eagle is a northern style drum group. Callin' Eagle Has traveled extensively across the United States representing various tribes and cultures. Callin' Eagle singers are busy going singing, dancing, hand drumming, having fun, & traveling. There are 5 families contributing to Callin' Eagle success, each family providing support & guidance to our young singers.

Cree Society was formed through thoughts and dreams of young singers and song makers singing their own style of songs. Being young and sticking together as friends, brothers and sisters, Cree Society first set up at Muskeg Lake powwow in the Summer of 2003. We have had the opportunity to host powwows from as far south as New Mexico, and as far North as Northern Manitoba. The members of Cree Society are fun loving individuals, who believe humor, fun and singing is what keeps them together. All singers strongly believe in the traditional ways, and incorporate the beliefs and customs into their everyday lives, as it is a part of their identity.

We are a drum group from the Pueblo of San Felipe, New Mexico. The group is mainly all cousins and brothers, but aren't we all. We have been on the powwow trail for awhile and have won numerous drum contest. But we have not had the luck to get signed with anybody. If you would like to know more about us please just ask. See ya' on the powwow trail, cuz our car stops at every powwow.

Red Nation started about summer of 04' and comes from the heart of Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. Although Red Nation has only been singing together for about 5 years, we all have experience of singing throughout our lives with other drum groups. Also hailing out from Jemez, such as Black Eagle, Star Feather and Red Elk. We are proud and honored to sing as we represent our people, friends, families and most of all!! Our tribe "Walatowa". Our songs are made in our native language known as "Towa". We as singers believe and respect the way of our drum. With the Inspiration from drum groups throughout the United States and Canada. Youth/Teen Drum Group.

Stepping foot into the Powwow culture in 1989, we have been inspired and introduced into the powwow way of life by some of the most respected individuals in Indian Country. Kenny Scabbyrobe and family, Tobby Starr (who has passed into the spirit world), Paul Pacheco Sr. (who has also passed into the spirit world), Otis Half Moon and Norman Largo. These are just a few to mention who have inspired us to Humbly keep this way of life. With this inspiration, we have been singing for 20 years, composing many songs in honor of many individuals. We have travelled across Indian Country for both the benefit and the competition within the Powwow circuit. We have recently adapted the original style of singing adding a contemporary flare in our music. We compose our songs in our Native Towa language, which we are the only Towa speaking tribe in the whole world. We would like to thank our father Lawrence Toya who has been a great inspiration to us in our song making. With that, we sing with pride and honor for all people from all walks of life.
